Numerology Calculator: Find Your Life Path Number
Your Life Path Number comes from adding every digit of your birth date and reducing the total to a single digit, unless it lands on a master number, 11, 22 or 33. Enter your birthday to see your number, the full calculation, and your 2027 Personal Year.

How the Life Path Number is calculated
Take your birth date as eight digits, year, month and day, and add them all. Then add the digits of that total, and repeat until you have one digit. The only exception: if a total is 11, 22 or 33, you stop there. Here are four worked examples.
| Birthday | Digits added | Life Path |
|---|---|---|
| May 17, 1990 | 1+9+9+0+0+5+1+7 = 32 | 5 |
| March 2, 1985 | 1+9+8+5+0+3+0+2 = 28 | 1 |
| January 5, 2003 | 2+0+0+3+0+1+0+5 = 11 | 11 |
| March 3, 1989 | 1+9+8+9+0+3+0+3 = 33 | 33 |
For May 17, 1990 the total is 32, and 3+2 = 5. For March 2, 1985 the total is 28, then 2+8 = 10, then 1+0 = 1. January 5, 2003 adds up to 11, so it stays 11 instead of becoming 2. March 3, 1989 adds up to 33 and stays 33.

Two methods, one answer (usually)
Some numerologists reduce the month, the day and the year to single digits first and then add the three. Most of the time the result is the same as adding every digit at once. The difference shows up with master numbers: one method can pass through 11 or 22 while the other skips straight to 2 or 4. If another site gives you a master number and we do not (or the other way around), that is why. This calculator always shows its work so you can check it.
Numerology is a symbolic tradition, not a science. Treat your number as a lens for reflection, not a verdict about who you are.
Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate my Life Path Number?
Write your birth date as YYYYMMDD, add every digit, then keep adding the digits of the total until one digit is left. If the total becomes 11, 22 or 33 at any step, stop and keep that master number.
Why do some calculators give me a different number?
There are two common methods. Some sites reduce the month, day and year separately before adding them; others add every digit at once. The totals usually agree, but master numbers can appear in one method and not the other. This calculator adds every digit at once and shows each step.
What are master numbers?
11, 22 and 33 are called master numbers. In numerology they are read as intensified versions of 2, 4 and 6. They are not better or luckier, just described as carrying more pressure and more potential.
What is a Personal Year Number?
Add the digits of your birth month, birth day and the calendar year, then reduce to one digit. For 2027 it describes the theme of the year for you, from 1 (new beginnings) to 9 (completion).
Is numerology scientific?
No. Numerology is a centuries-old symbolic system, not a science. Many people use it as a prompt for reflection, the same way they might use a personality quiz.
